Michael Neale formed Neale Consulting Engineers in 1962 following his position at Glacier Metal. For nearly 40 years, he has specialised in solving tribology problems
and machinery failures worldwide, particularly in marine,
aviation, power, automotive and industrial applications.
Michael was awarded the tribology silver medal in 1978 for contributions linking research to improved machine design. In 1984 he was awarded the OBE for services to the engineering profession, and in 1991 became President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
Michael has written many publications and
in 1995 updated the Tribology Handbook which he had first edited in 1973.
This is a best-selling international technical handbook of it's type.
Michael has acted extensively as an expert witness and has also given evidence to Parliamentary Committees.
