Knowledge Transfer

Products that have moving parts inevitably incorporate at least some of the standard tribological* components such as;

• bearings;
• gears;
• sliding surfaces;
• rotary/linear drives;
• seals etc.

These combine with the structural components and other functional elements such as heat exchangers etc. to form the product or system.

Different machines types have different component and system failure modes, but fortunately the principles of tribology, vibration and applied mechanics apply to all. Furthermore, the experience of the NDA team covers a very wide range of machines and industries, and this breadth of experience enables "knowledge transfer" - i.e. the understanding of failures in one machine type can be used to avoid failures in another machine type.
